With funding from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF), Child Trends and the National Institute for Children’s Health Quality (NICHQ) partnered to explore innovative practices at the intersection of early childhood development and health equity across the United States. Project activities included a scan and analysis of initiatives operating across states and communities, as well as in-depth interviews with staff from select initiatives to better understand their approaches to promoting health equity. Child Trends and NICHQ also held virtual conversations with key participants to inform our work. Insights from our analyses, interviews, and convenings were used to develop a range of products and activities that can be shared across sectors and used to inform programming and policy making in the field of early childhood.
